Christina L. McDevitt graduated Melrose High School in 1986. She attended Salem State
University and Lawrence Memorial School of Nursing. At Salem State, Chrissy became a
cheerleader and assisted the Melrose High School’s cheerleading squad.

            Chrissy loved life and had a smile that lit up a room. She had the gift of making people laugh and always made
someone feel loved and welcome. Chrissy also loved to travel. Chrissy became a Nurse in 1991
working at Lahey North in Peabody. She loved her family, friends, and her patients. She would
go above and beyond to help and protect them. She made an impact on everyone she met.

            Chrissy passed away suddenly on November 20, 1994 of a congenital heart defect.

            We hope this scholarship helps you in your future endeavors. A dream is always within
reach Chrissy would say. Never give up! Chrissy would be delighted to know that she is helping
someone reach their goals.

            We wish you the best and Congratulations on your graduation. The best is yet to come.
Enjoy your next chapter and remember Chrissy’s motto, Be Kind, Compassionate, laugh out
loud, have fun safely, travel and follow your dreams.
