THE MARTHA C, QUINN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship was established by the family, teachers and friends of Martha Quinn who died of Leukemia the summer before her freshman year at Melrose Junior High School. Martha was filled with exuberance, charm and fun. Her particular friend, Mr. Charles Carroll, Melrose Junior High School, describes Martha as, “enthusiastic and effervescent and a person I counted on to brighten my day.”

Martha was a member of the chorus and played violin in the school orchestra, Theodore K. Leutz, Director of String Music, recalls a kind, considerate child whose great joy was playing for her father, and whose creativity was exhibited in sketching and musical Improvisation.

Because of her love of music, this award is designated for a senior who has excelled in string-instrumental.

Martha was the daughter of Superintendent and Mrs. George Quinn and the sister of Robin, Melrose High SchooL ’75, and would have graduated with the class of 1980.

THE MELROSE HIGH SCHOOL PERMANENT SCHOLARSHIP FUND congratulates you upon receiving this memorial scholarship. The founders of this schoLarship will always be interested in your plans and progress.
