MELROSE EDUCATIONAL ASSOCIATION The earliest written records of the Melrose Educational Association go back to 1912 when it was known as the “Melrose Teachers! Club.” At that time the club’s the main purpose was social in nature.

Today, in addition to its social nature, the MEA has other important purposes which include maintaining and improving the overall quality of education for every student. The Association also strives to uphold high professional standards and to advance the socio-economic well-being of educators.

The first MEA Scholarship ever given to a Melrose High School Student was in 1917, and they’ve been awarding one every year Since. The annual scholarship is sometimes given in the memory of a deceased member of the Melrose School System who distinguished themselves during their Lengthy educational careers, and the Association usually Likes the yearly scholarship to be awarded to a Student who is planning on pursuing a degree in the field of education.

This Scholarship presented to you is an example of teachers and administrators within the school system who genuinely care about you and your future. You have been educated and guided by them for several years, and now through the MEA, they have this final opportunity to help you along in quest of your educational goals.

THE MELROSE HIGH SCHOOL PERMANENT SCHOLARSHIP FUND congratulates you upon receiving this memorial Scholarship. The founders of this scholarship will always be interested in your plans and progress.
