This scholarship is presented by the Melrose Bandaiders alongside the Mike Buckley Marching Band Award and the recipient is determined by the Melrose Band Director and band staff. The Mike Buckley Marching Band Award is given to a student in the Marching Band or Color Guard who demonstrates skill, dedication, and a passion for competition and marching. It honors Mike Buckley, a beloved Melrose Public Schools band director during the early 2000s and 2010s, whose energy, leadership, and love of music inspired countless students. He fostered excellence on and off the field, always encouraging musicians to achieve their best. This award recognizes students who embody his dedication, competitive spirit, and commitment to pride and performance within the Melrose Band community.
Graduation from high school is the first step out of Melrose and into the world. This is a significant event in your life, and the people who support the Scholarship Fund are happy to join with the faculty of Melrose High School and the community at large in wishing you well.
